Mortal Kombat Unveils Hidden Fighter Inspired by Rock Legend
This week's Mortal Kombat 1 update brought a surprise addition to the roster: Conan the Barbarian. But the truly unexpected newcomer is a pink-clad ninja named Floyd – a secret, playable character.
This isn't a joke; Floyd is a fully functional fighter, a clear nod to the iconic Pink Floyd. His introduction mirrors the band's Dark Side of the Moon album cover, showcasing a prism-like effect. Interestingly, Floyd's moveset is a blend of techniques borrowed from other ninjas in the game, incorporating Sub-Zero's freezing abilities and Scorpion's spear attacks, among others. He also boasts a quirky 1337 health points.
Long-time Mortal Kombat fans will see parallels to Reptile, the secret character from the original game. Like Floyd, Reptile was notoriously difficult to defeat and utilized a moveset compiled from other ninjas.
Unlocking Floyd currently appears to be somewhat random, though he offers clues regarding the necessary challenges. The community is actively working to decipher the exact unlock conditions, but a definitive method remains elusive.
