NetEase announced significant gameplay changes coming with Marvel Rivals' mid-season update via their February 11 blog post. The Eternal Night Falls season enters its second phase featuring two new playable characters alongside competitive ranking resets.

The Fantastic Four roster completes on February 21 with Human Torch (Duelist) and The Thing (Vanguard) joining Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman from earlier this season. Developers hint at major balance changes arriving with these heroes that will "reshape current battle dynamics", though specific adjustments remain undisclosed.

Season 1 previously introduced Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) alongside three new maps, limited-time events, and the Doom Match game mode.
