Blumhouse Adapting Phasmophobia Into Film
Kinetic Games' spine-chilling ghost-hunting sensation Phasmophobia is officially headed to Hollywood.
Horror powerhouse Blumhouse — known for hits like Five Nights at Freddy's, The Conjuring, and M3gan — has teamed up with the UK studio to develop a feature film adaptation. While details remain scarce, including casting choices or creative leads, the collaboration promises thrilling potential.
"This marks a monumental milestone for Kinetic Games and the beginning of an exhilarating journey," stated Kinetic Games director Daniel "Dknighter" Knight. "Five years ago, we never anticipated Phasmophobia would achieve such extraordinary success or leave such an indelible mark across gaming and pop culture. Our passionate community made this possible."
"Partnering with Blumhouse and Atomic Monster opens an exciting new chapter," Knight continued. "We eagerly await sharing more updates as development progresses."
Phasmophobia delivers intense 4-player cooperative horror as paranormal investigators exploring haunted locations to document supernatural phenomena. Since its 2020 early access launch, this genre-defining ghost-hunting title has surpassed 23 million sales through its unique fusion of teamwork-driven scares and investigative gameplay. The upcoming Chronicle update promises major enhancements to evidence systems, journals, and progression mechanics.
