Honor of Kings at Esports World Cup: $3M Prize

The Esports World Cup 2025 is shaping up to be a defining moment for mobile esports. With PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang already confirmed, this summer's competition in Riyadh promises elite talent and substantial prize money. Now, Honor of Kings is entering the lineup with an ambitious presence.

As part of a three-year collaboration with EWC, the Honor of Kings World Cup returns featuring a $3 million prize pool and an expanded structure that welcomes more teams and intensified matches. The action begins on July 15th and continues through the 26th, showcasing 18 teams from around the world, including dominant contenders from the King Pro League and Asian Champions League.

The tournament starts with 16 teams in the Group Stage, divided into four double-elimination brackets. Only the leading team from each group secures a direct spot in the Playoffs, with second-place finishers moving into a Last Chance bracket for the remaining two positions.

Matches in the initial phases will follow best-of-three and best-of-five formats, building momentum for the Playoffs where the KPL and ACL champions lie in wait. The concluding stage, set for August 16th, will adopt a best-of-seven bracket, with a third-place decider also included.

Qualifiers for this year’s event are already in full swing. Regional leagues throughout Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East will send their strongest representatives to Riyadh, with teams from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and other regions securing their invites throughout May and June.
