Fortnite Reverses Unpopular Skin Decision

The iconic Master Chief, the face of the Halo franchise (even behind that helmet!), is a highly sought-after Fortnite skin. His return to the item shop after a two-year hiatus was met with cheers, but a small detail soured the celebration.

Initially, an exclusive Matte Black style was offered only to players using Xbox Series S|X consoles. For a considerable period, Epic Games advertised this style as permanently obtainable. The abrupt announcement of its removal, therefore, caused significant backlash.

Some disgruntled fans even considered legal action, threatening a class-action lawsuit, believing the change violated terms and conditions. However, Epic Games swiftly reversed course within 24 hours. The Matte Black style is now available to all Master Chief skin owners, provided they play a single match on an Xbox Series S|X.

This reversal appears to be the most sensible outcome. Given the holiday season and the festive spirit of Christmas, such a controversial move would have undoubtedly dampened the celebratory mood.
