Finding crafting resources in Monster Hunter Wilds can be challenging. This guide focuses on efficiently acquiring Sharp Fangs, a crucial material for early-game crafting.

Sharp Fangs are obtainable early in the game, specifically within the Windward Plains. These fangs are needed to craft beginner armor sets like Chatacabra and Talioth. Access this area through optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding," offering a convenient 50-minute time limit. Remember to prepare with a hearty meal beforehand.

Upon reaching the Windward Plains, head to Area 8, the largest area, teeming with various small monsters. While multiple creatures can drop Sharp Fangs, Gaijos are the most reliable source.

Targeting Gaijos for Maximum Efficiency

Gaijos, crocodile-like leviathans, are typically found near or in riverbeds, usually solitary. Utilize the interactive map's purple diamond markers near water sources to locate them. Their low health makes them easy targets, even with starting weapons. Each successfully hunted Gaijo guarantees a single Sharp Fang upon carving.

Area 8 usually spawns four to five Gaijos. Repeatedly completing Windward Plains optional quests provides the easiest method for farming additional Sharp Fangs.

Talioth: An Alternative, Though Less Reliable, Source

Talioths, bipedal creatures found in packs across Area 8 and sometimes Area 13, also have a chance of dropping Sharp Fangs, though it's not guaranteed. While they are slightly tougher than Gaijos, they remain manageable with early-game equipment. Hunting Talioths also conveniently progresses the "The Desert is Demanding" quest.
