Cyberpunk 2077 Receives Its Ultimate Update

CD Projekt Red, the developer of Cyberpunk 2077, isn't finished yet. The game is set to receive another update later this month. Here’s what to expect from the studio and whether this truly is the final patch.
Cyberpunk 2077 Developers Are Still Going Strong
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Arrives June 26
CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has more planned for Cyberpunk 2077, having recently announced an upcoming update. During the June 5 REDstreams event, the team revealed a new patch scheduled for release later this month.
As they wrapped up the celebration for the game's launch on the Switch 2, CDPR confirmed that Patch 2.3 will arrive on June 26. More details will be shared in a separate livestream before the update goes live.
On June 5, CDPR's Global Community Director Marcin Momot reiterated the announcement on Twitter, telling fans to watch for more news. Associate Game Director Pawel Sasko retweeted the statement on June 6, adding that the team has been quietly working on this update and will share full details when ready.
Will This Be the Last Update?

CDPR has had several "final" updates for Cyberpunk 2077, but this upcoming patch could genuinely be the last as the studio shifts focus to Cyberpunk 2. Even the developers joked during the latest REDstreams that the previous "last" update wasn't actually the final one.
The studio initially labeled Patch 2.1 in December 2023 as the game's "last major update," coinciding with the Ultimate Edition launch. Then, in December 2024, CDPR and support developer Virtuos released Patch 2.2, adding more customization options. Many fans assumed this was truly the end, given the game's original 2020 release date.
This trend of extending support isn't new for CDPR. The studio also had a hard time letting go of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. They first announced the December 2022 next-gen Patch 4.0 as the final update, only to release another significant patch, version 4.04, in July 2023.
More recently, CDPR confirmed that The Witcher 3 will receive its actual final update later this year. In a May 30 Twitter post celebrating the game's 10th anniversary, the studio announced that the patch will introduce cross-platform mod support, creating a unified ecosystem for players to share their creations.

With Cyberpunk 2 now in pre-production and The Witcher 4's tech demo underway, it's likely these upcoming patches for their predecessors will indeed be the final ones. For now, Cyberpunk fans can enjoy the game on Nintendo's latest handheld console.
The Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition launched for the Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. It includes the full base game, every update released to date, and the acclaimed Phantom Liberty expansion. For the latest news and updates, check out our article below.
