Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Post-Launch Updates
Bug Fixes and Localization Improvements
Sandfall Interactive has released the first update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 since its launch. Announced on April 30 via a Steam blog post, Hotfix 1.2.2 addresses several in-game issues, including a soft-lock caused by stunning the Grown Bourgeon and other soft-lock problems on the world map. The update also includes localization enhancements for the French, German, and Chinese languages.
The developers are actively working on further fixes and improvements, promising more updates soon. While these patches are vital for enhancing gameplay, the community eagerly anticipates more significant updates, such as potential DLCs. The game's lead writer recently engaged with fans on Instagram, hinting at the possibility of a DLC due to the game's success, although no official confirmation was provided.
Expedition 33 Director Recommends Another RPG Released on the Same Day
In other news, Sandfall Games' Creative Director Guillaume Broche took to Expedition 33’s Twitter (X) on April 30 to recommend another RPG released the same day, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. Broche praised the game, saying, "After your Expedition, check out The Hundred Line, another great turn-based RPG that was also released last week, and made with love by an awesome team."
This recommendation was in response to a tweet from The Hundred Line’s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka, who on April 28, encouraged fans to play both games. Kodaka tweeted, "Even after you finish Expedition 33, this Japanese cult game will still be here, waiting for you!" and continued to praise Expedition 33, urging fans to experience both RPGs.
Despite launching alongside other notable RPGs like Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered, The Hundred Line has received "Very Positive" reviews on Steam. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 has solidified its position as the highest-rated game of 2025, achieving sales of over 1 million copies within just three days.
