Capcom Registers Dino Crisis Trademark
Capcom's recent trademark application for "Dino Crisis" in Japan has ignited excitement among fans. While not a guaranteed new game release, the public filing strongly indicates Capcom is actively exploring the franchise's potential.
Securing the trademark allows Capcom to lay the groundwork for various projects, potentially including a remake of the classic dinosaur survival horror series. Created by Shinji Mikami (the visionary behind Resident Evil), the original Dino Crisis launched on the PlayStation 1 in 1999. Although two sequels followed, the series went dormant after 2003, leaving fans yearning for a revival.

This renewed interest isn't unfounded. Capcom previously announced plans to revitalize older, dormant franchises. This statement, following the announcements of an Okami sequel and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, further fueled speculation. Adding to the anticipation, a 2024 Capcom fan poll ranked Dino Crisis as the most desired franchise continuation, significantly boosting hopes for its return.
