Borderlands 4 priced at $70, lower than expected

Borderlands 4 pre-orders have settled the pricing debate, confirming a $70 base price rather than the rumored $80. Here's everything you need to know about the game's pricing structure and available editions at launch.
Confirmed $70 Price Point
Borderlands 4 Pre-Orders Now Available
Gearbox Software has officially revealed Borderlands 4's pricing as pre-orders went live. The official Borderlands Twitter account announced on June 16 that the game is available for pre-order across all platforms.
The standard edition is priced at $70, with the Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions costing $100 and $130 respectively. This confirmation puts to rest speculation that the base game would cost $80.

The pricing controversy began weeks ago when Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford responded cryptically to questions about the game's cost. On May 14, his remark about "real fans" dealing with a potential $80 price point angered many in the community.
The situation escalated until Pitchford posted a lengthy clarification on May 29, stating: "I am sorry there was a misunderstanding... I always work with the intent that customers feel they got the better end of the deal." Despite this, some fans remained skeptical about his initial comments.

The pre-order announcement has reassured players concerned about excessive pricing, confirming Borderlands 4 will launch at the standard $70 price point for current-gen games.
