Duck Hunt is a classic light gun shooter game.

In Duck Hunt, players aim and shoot at ducks that appear on the screen. Ducks fly into view either singly or in pairs, and players have three shots to take them down before they escape. Points are earned for every duck successfully hit. To advance to the next round, players must shoot a required number of ducks in that round; failing to do so results in a game over.

The game becomes more challenging in later rounds: targets move faster, and the minimum number of ducks needed to progress increases. Players score points for each duck hit, along with a bonus for clearing all ten targets in one round. Duck Hunt records the highest score of the current session, but this progress is lost once the game is turned off.
